ARC T7AR
has been used to protect Super Duplex pumps at a biofuel production plant using
corn to produce ethanol.
The plant was achieving a MTBF of only 6 months in the
corn mash pumps with a cost of over 5000 Euro to replace just the pump’s back
plate.
Each time the pump was replaced the mechanical seal was also replaced.
This plant has a total of 22 pumps with the same problems.
ARC T7AR was trialed
in two of the pumps and inspection after 6 months running showed minimal loss
of the composite. It is expected that the ARC T7AR will run for 18 months
before any repair will be required.
Of course no new replacement Super Duplex
parts will be required as the T7AR can be repaired as often as needed. This
plant has now protected 12 of the corn mash pumps with T7AR with all of the
pumps expected to be protected in the future.
