As many of you are aware, in 2015
Chesterton acquired Ceramic Polymer in Roedinghausen, Germany. As well as acquiring a new coating product
line, this allowed Chesterton to develop a new European warehouse and Customer
Service presence for the ARC and ILMOC product line.
In addition it provides Chesterton a
platform to ensure REACh compliance by May 2018.
REACh is a regulation of the European
Union, adopted to improve the protection of human health and the environment
from the risks that can be posed by chemicals, while enhancing the
competitiveness of the EU chemicals industry. In principle, REACH applies to all
chemical substances.
This essentially means that the majority
of the ARC and ILMOC product line will need to be manufactured in Europe utilizing
European raw materials. Currently there is a team focused on this, and over the
upcoming months we will see many European manufactured versions of Chesterton
formulations become available. These products will be designated with a letter (E)
and will be announced to the field as they become available. In addition the
move to European manufacturing will improve product availability, responsiveness
and will reduce lead times. As we move forward we will also look at additions
to the ARC and ILMOC product portfolio.
The future is bright and this provides
us a strong platform for Sales growth in 2017 and beyond.
If you have any questions in relation to
this please contact the EMEA ARC and ILMOC Marketing team.
